The LMT Refinery - Michigan

The LMT Refinery’s Michigan Barefoot Massage Hub is located in Howell, Michigan and led by instructor Rachel O’Connor, LMT, owner of Massage Livingston. Rachel teaches our 3-Day Intro to Barefoot Massage class, a live, hands-on, NCBTMB-approved continuing education course for licensed massage therapists.

Designed for therapists who are new to Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage or want to strengthen their foundation, this 24 CE-hour class teaches you how to use the feet as a practical, approachable tool for deep, effective bodywork. You will learn body mechanics, overhead bar use, safety, client positioning, and full-body barefoot massage techniques you can immediately bring into practice.

Rachel is also the creator of Grounded Flow, our bars-free barefoot class that emphasizes stability, creativity, and sustainable body mechanics. She will soon be offering Active Ashi in Michigan as well. A calm, quiet, and creative force behind the scenes, Rachel brings a thoughtful, grounded presence to every class. She is known locally for creating genuine community among massage therapists in Michigan, along with her signature dry humor that keeps classes fun and approachable.

Rachel’s classes are taught in small groups with plenty of individual attention, making Howell a welcoming place to learn whether you are brand new to barefoot massage or already have experience. Students often appreciate the combination of practical instruction, supportive feedback, and the supportive community Rachel has built.
